Gregory Martin is a PhD candidate in the department of history at Princeton University. His dissertation, Seeking Justice on the Margins: Rural Transformation in Ilim-gora, 1921-1941, examines the rural agency underwriting the Soviet experiment through a microhistory of the village of Ilim-gora. His research interests include agrarian transformations and rural modernities around the globe, especially in the Soviet Union and China.
