Alexey Shvyrkov is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Slavic Languages at Columbia University. His research interests lie in the examination of postcolonial and postimperial narratives in late Soviet and post-Soviet Russophone literatures from Central Asia and the Caucasus. Beyond his primary focus, he is interested in neocolonial narratives and representations of the Other in contemporary Czech literature.
